Hello Friends,
I have worked for one company for 1.6 years and left it on August 13th, 2010, and joined another company on August 18th, 2010. While joining the new company, I opted for PF transfer. There I got a new PF account number. I received a salary for the months of August and September.
Due to some personal problems, I left the new company without giving prior notice. Now, I would like to withdraw my PF amount. However, I am unsure which employer I need to contact. Can I consult the people from the new company even though I left without informing them?
Please advise me on the procedure to retrieve my PF amount.

It has been noted that you have opted for the transfer of PF from your previous service. Please follow up to confirm the transfer. Once confirmed, proceed to withdraw the PF through your second employer.

Hello Abbas,
Thank you for your response. How can I confirm whether the transfer has taken place or not? Do I need to visit the PF office, or can I check online or through another method?
If I go to the PF office directly with my previous and current PF account numbers, am I able to withdraw the amount myself?
Please advise me on the appropriate steps to take.
Thank you once again for your valuable suggestions.

You may check with your present PF office whether it is transferred. If not, follow up in the previous PF office for transfer. Abbas.P.S

Dear Anki Reddy,
You need to know the PF number allotted to you by your second employer. If you have this number, you can contact the PF office of the second employer and check whether any amount has been transferred to this account from your previous employer.
To do this, you need to know the PF number assigned to you by your first employer to check whether the amount has been credited from that account. If this has not occurred, you should contact the PF office of the first employer to inquire about the status of your transfer.
Once you have confirmed that the amount has been transferred, you can file the claim application with the PF office of the second employer. Send the claim application to your second employer and request them to process the claim. If they do not take action, you can approach the PRO of the PF office of the second employer and ask them to expedite your claim.

Mr. Kannan is absolutely right. You can proceed the same way, but you can claim PF withdrawal after 60 days from your last organization's leaving date.
In case of your transfer, if the transfer is to the same Regional Office (RO), then it may be done within a month; otherwise, it will take 2-3 months.

Hey Reddy,
I am adding to what others had commented. Better check with your previous employer on the status; they will know whether they processed your PF transfer or not. I am sure it will take some time to get transferred.
On the other hand, please do check with the local PF office to know the status of your PF transfer. If they say Form 13 is authorized, then your PF transfer is completed. If not, approach your previous employer and submit your PF claim form.
For the two months of work, you won't get 8.33% (10C) anyway. So, process that separately. Don't complicate it. Check with your previous employer and process your claim.

Hi Friends,
Thank you so much for your valuable suggestions. I enquired with my second employer, and they said they did not receive the PF transfer application (Form 13) from my previous employer. Can I now apply to withdraw from my previous company where I worked for 1.6 years? My previous company's HR sent me the forms to withdraw the PF amount. I was relieved from my previous company on August 13th, 2010, so can I apply now? Also, I applied for PF withdrawal from my second company where I worked from August 18th, 2010, to September 30th, 2010. Am I eligible to apply for this? Please suggest based on the above details.
Thank you very much.

Dear ankireddy
You may use the online Employees Provident Fund internet Grievance Management System (EPFiGMS)
A lot of people are suffering with their PF related woes owing to the attitude of employers as well as the PF Authorities. Mostly these delays are owing to the corruption. Although, the Government is doing its best to provide information to the employees in a better way, yet the means of the corrupt are stronger than the measures of the Government.
However, still, one can take some measures to get the information:
01. First you should directly ask your HR dept. to provide your PF Number, and other assistance that you require concerning your PF related issue.
02. However, if employer neglects your request, just approach Regional PF Office and consult EDP section. (You have to be smart and humble while requesting EDP section, just tell your company's Name, your name and your Account No., the person will verify your records through computer and will let you know the exact status as on date)
03. All of you seeking PF related help may use the following link which will take you to EPFO newly launched "Employees Provident Fund internet Grievance Management System (EPFiGMS) portal: EPFO <link updated to site home> or go to Home Page

3. Scheme Certificate (Form 10 C)
4. Settlement of Pension (Form 10 D)

PF Withdrawal Issue Without PF Number
I was working in a company from September 13, 2013, to October 30, 2015, with a notice period of one month as per company policy after resignation. However, during my 2.2 years there, I didn't receive my PF account number. Although I am getting my salary slips, the PF number is not mentioned. I have my appointment letter, salary slips for 2.2 years, confirmation letter, and increment letter. In all documents, PF is being deducted, but I don't have the PF number. I submitted my PF withdrawal form in December 2015, as the company said they would include my PF number on the withdrawal application form and submit it. But now it's been six months, and I still haven't received my PF amount.
How can I get my PF amount without having the PF number? Please suggest a way forward or advise on how to file a case against the employer.

Sandeep
