Hi Friends,
I have 2.5 years of experience in HR, with 1.5 years in Recruitment (from finding the right candidate to induction and joining formalities) and 1 year in Generalist roles (including Recruitment, Performance appraisal, Employee engagement, Grievance Handling, Preparation of attendance using Time attendance software, Good knowledge of salary preparation for over 1000 employees, Handling PF, PF Challans, ESIC, etc., Full and Final formalities, exit interviews).
My future plans include doing an SAP course from Siemens, but before that, I would like to work with an HR department in an MNC. I seek guidance from all you seniors – Am I on the right track? What else can I do to sharpen my edge?
Regards,
Ankush Thakur

Dear Ankush,
It's good to see that you are considering the technological aspect in HR. You have experience in various areas of HR operations, which should enhance your knowledge in this field. If you are looking to get certified in the SAP HR Module, I recommend pursuing your next assignment in a company that utilizes SAP. This opportunity would allow you to work with the SAP User end module, enabling you to become a proficient SAP HR Functional Consultant post-certification. You may need to work with PA20, PA30, PA40, and generate reports using logical reasoning periodically.
I have seen many HR professionals who have completed this course and have been successfully placed. However, it's worth noting that the demand for SAP HR professionals has been more inclined towards experienced individuals post-recession. I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors.

Dear Ankush,
(Cite Contribution)'s idea is good because, of course, it is very expensive to find a company where SAP modules are available or not. Then, go ahead; some companies have SAP but don't have HR modules.
With Thanks & Regards,

Dear Ankush,
Please don't hop on jobs like these. HR personnel need to show stability in their resumes, so try to stick to wherever you are. However, if you are really getting desperate to make a change, then follow Nabonita's advice.

Dear Members,
I have researched extensively about SAP, but I still have a few confusions. From Siemens and other authorized partners, the fees for certification range from 1.5 lakh to 3.5 lakh. On the other hand, unauthorised institutes that only provide coaching charge between 25,000 to 30,000.
I have been informed by my friends that having certification is crucial to receiving interview calls. Currently, my budget does not allow for the 1.5 lakh expense.
If I opt for coaching from an unauthorised but reputable institute, I believe I will gain a good understanding of SAP and may succeed in cracking the interview, thereby acquiring practical knowledge as well.
While I consider certification a priority, I understand that experience can also be valuable in securing a job. I may pursue certification later after gaining some experience.
Dear seniors, please assist me and provide guidance on the best course of action.
Is certification mandatory for job opportunities even if someone possesses substantial knowledge but lacks the degree?
I am planning to take coaching from Webcom or Skyinfotch in Delhi for 30,000. If this option does not prove worthwhile, kindly advise me, and I will consider taking a loan for certification from JKT in Gurgaon, which charges 1.5 lakh.
