Hi,
I hate making choices, but have to make one soon between PGCHRM from XLRI and a part-time MBA from Welingkar, which will begin in June 2011. The obvious choice seems to be XLRI because of the brand name and the course duration, but I have a few queries about the program. How effective is the course in terms of lecture delivery and learning? How organized are the lectures and everything else? What is the industry's recognition of the course?
I have about 4 years of experience in recruitment and HR and aim to pursue a career in Employee Relations (ER). Hence, I chose this course over a 2-year full-time program. Will this course help me achieve my career goals?
Kindly reply.

XLRI will be a better option as the duration is short and will help you retain the enthusiasm and focus towards it and also the brand XLRI is synonymous to HR in India.

XLRI. Well, I think you're insulting XLRI by comparing it with Welingkar's. When people don't get admissions in colleges like this, they opt for Welingkar's/MET and all. Instead, I think if you're looking to consider some other local college, I will suggest you find out about the courses offered by TISS/SP JAIN/JBIMS.
Hope this helps!

Hi,
I'm currently undergoing the XLRI Satellite course of PGCHRM. Some things I would like to clarify: if you are considering pursuing XLRI, be prepared for a substantial commitment to your studies, in addition to your work schedule.
This course requires a significant amount of time and effort. Exams are scheduled almost every 2nd and 4th week of the month, along with assignments, quizzes, and other submissions that need to be completed on time.
Furthermore, the course schedule and procedures are meticulously planned and executed without errors. It is truly a valuable learning experience!
I hope my insights are helpful to you. Feel free to reach out to me in case of any issues.
Regards,
Ms. Kunal
