Dear Forum,

I want to know whether there are any restrictions from the PF department for PF withdrawal if a PF member has filled out an SSN form in his previous employment. I left my previous employer (A TATA Company) on 21.02.2008. Now, I want to submit FORM 19 and FORM 10C to my previous employer since the 60-day period has expired. My account age is more than 10 years.

The HR of my previous company informed me that I have to transfer by filling out FORM 13 and cannot withdraw since I had filled out the SSN form with them. They maintain a PF Trust in Hyderabad.

Please clarify.

Dear Subhasish,

It is not compulsory to transfer your PF amount to a new company. Tata company is an Exempted establishment. Exempted establishments deposit their PF amount in a Trust and Pension amount in EPFO. You can withdraw your PF amount by submitting Form 19, but you have to transfer your Pension amount to your new PF number.

Hi Amit,

Can you shed more light on the subject? What about cases where the P.F. amount was not deposited in the trust but with the local P.F. office instead? In these cases, can we not withdraw our P.F. money now due to the current SSN system?

Dear forum,

I left my previous company 2 years ago. My PF deductions were up to December. However, when I tried to withdraw my PF, the company had not submitted its annual return for that period. As a result, the department did not clear my account up to December since they had not received the return. Can I claim the remaining PF balance by attaching details from my previous employer?
