Can anyone give me examples of:

1. A company that takes over other companies and destroys them so that there is no competition.
2. Miniature replica... It's like a parent company operating in, say, India. It had a replica of the parent company in India, with the same product lines and stuff, but the area of operation is smaller.
3. A company that acquired another to become strong in their country.
4. A company that manufactures product A in some country because of resources available there and product B in some other country, but markets it everywhere. Please don't give HLL as an example because Venky already gave us that.
5. Leadership vacuum... where the leader retires or goes away, leaving the company with 4 VPs, and because of that, there is a cold war.
6. A company that during acquisition had different standards, promised stiff, but after 2-3 years, quietly changed them.
7. A company that acquired some company but a different line of product, like Sunflower by ITC.

Hi Sunayna,

There is absolutely nothing funny about your post, and it's absolutely okay to ask for a little guidance. However, I don't think the use of Hindi and abbreviated words comes across as professional, and it is a bit difficult to understand. As you have probably seen from the posts, there are many international members in this forum, and it's likely extremely difficult for them to understand what you are asking.

Some good reads on the subjects you mentioned:

I will post other materials when I come across them. I will need some time as I am a bit busy currently with some website maintenance issues.

Hi Sunayna,

We are glad to know that your paper went well... great! I couldn't help you despite being a hardcore marketing guy before I changed to HR. I suggest that you join the marketing e-groups which would definitely help you with marketing examples. Next time, I shall endeavor to reply to your queries.

Hello Everybody,

I am a PGDHRM student. I have to do a project on Organizational Development, where we have to study any company - how it came into existence, how it functions, its organizational chart, and its current status. Based on this information, we have to analyze it, provide our views, and propose an OD intervention that will be useful.

Can anybody help me with information about any company? This will enable me to work on my project as I have to submit it on Monday, the 28th of March. I would be highly obliged if someone could assist me so that I can begin my project.

Thank you,
Saba

Hello Saba,

Good Time!

Since you haven't mentioned where you are and which organization you want to model on, but based on the information you gave, I suggest if you want to build OD in any modern information or emerging company, I would suggest you should access a self-suggested small-size company (revenue range > 300 crore < 600 cr). Access their website (assume you have an internet connection), take information from their "About Us" column or company info. Since you don't have time, please prepare a letter to the company webmaster that I am using your info to present in your seminar.

If you need direct help from the forum, you can submit your document on Saturday afternoon. I may be visiting the forum and could give some feedback on that.

That's it from my side. Happy working! Areas are wide from Ajanta Electronic Company to Lizzat Papad to Agritech... your choice.

Regards,
John
