I worked in a Noida based BPO company for 30 months. While leaving I gave a one month notice to the TL of my process and asked him to acknowledge the same. He said that he did not have the authority to sign on the resignation letter. And he said that he had already forwarded it to the concerned manager.
I followed up this issue many times and every time, the TL used to say that the concerned manager was busy or on leave. And every time he used to say “Don’t worry. You will get acknowledgement receipt”.
One month passed and I left the company. After 4 months I requested the HR people to sign the PF withdrawal form, but they refused. They are asking me to clear my account by giving one month salary as they didn’t get my resignation letter one month in advance.
How may I get my PF without paying one month salary to the CHOR company?

Hmm... What does your PL/TL say? Does he deny taking this up with the HR that you've already submitted your resignation letter? In case he denies, do you have proof of the resignation sent that states you have already submitted the resignation a month in advance? Do you know if they (company) submit the PF amount of employees with RPF? If yes, you can check the balance of your PF with them (against your PF A/C no.) and see if it has actually been submitted. I doubt if they are following the rules effectively. If you have proof that you have submitted resignation, it would be helpful to you in fighting for your PF amount. Else, it would be a problem. It's very important that one has proof that they have informed their resignation to their manager and kept HR in the loop. Send an email of your resignation letter to your manager and copy HR on it. By this, you have proof of it. Regards, Madhu.

Greetings,

I don't have any proof as I submitted a hard copy, and the TL has already left that company. How can I check the balance of my PF? Also, how can I verify whether it has actually been submitted/deposited by the company?

If your last company was registered with the PF office, then they are liable to submit the returns and all that as per the legal obligation. For this, you can ask the PR officer at the PF office with the proper company name; they will help you out in the case. Because you should know about the company PF code first, then you can get your account number. I'm sure you know your PF account number as it is shown on your monthly payslip. If you have the proper name (registered name), then you can find the code from the internet as well. Google "EPFO" to know about your PF status and other entries. Hope this helps.
