Dear Bhooshi,

The term 'contract labor' has been defined under the CLRA Act,1970 as a labor engaged in any industry through a contractor. Thus it is a generic form of indirect labor engaged in any industry. Therefore, such contract labor should be paid the industry wages applicable to the same or similar class of direct labor employed in the industry only. In addition there is no provision for wage fixation under the CLRA Act,1970.
