This seems to be a regular question here on CiteHR.
Perhaps a member can enlighten me on this point - surely the Factories Act 1948 clearly specifies which registers must be maintained. Is it not just a matter of reading the Act and following it?
I know people will decry this and say I haven't got time to read the Act. However, my view on this would be that every HR person working in an organisation covered by this Act should read and become acquainted with the requirements set out therein. It is part of their job to provide HR services and follow the law surely.
