As per my experience, if you want to grow in the HR field, then you need to understand the current market scenario. After that, you can understand human behaviour or human psychology. Suppose if you are working in the HR, Talent Acquisition field; so you need to understand the market behaviour for a particular skill, hiring instead directly talking to an associate's for a job.
Please note that in the HR field nobody perfect they have specialized in some certain skills.
