Guidelines about usage of general and common services:
General and common services such as the bathroom and toilet, use of electricity, and water usage, etc.
1. Wastage of water in the bathroom and toilet should be avoided.
2. Laborers living in these rooms should maintain the cleanliness of the room, bathroom, and toilet.
3. Air-conditioning and all electrical appliances should be switched off when not in use.
Safe housekeeping practices:
The principal contractor must ensure safe housekeeping practices, including:
1. Appropriate, safe, and clear access to and from the workplace.
2. Safe systems for collecting, storing, and disposing of excess or waste materials.
3. Adequate space for storing materials or plant.
4. Managing risks from protruding objects such as exposed nails or vertical reinforcing steel.
5. Providing and maintaining appropriate lighting for the work being done.
Safeguarding of personal belongings:
Management is not responsible for laborer's personal belongings.
Timings of switching on and off of lights:
Lights and all electrical appliances should be off during working hours.
Optimum utilization of common resources:
Water, electricity, and food should not be wasted. Laborers found guilty will be penalized for disobeying the orders.
Reporting procedure of any untoward incidents:
Laborers should report immediately to their supervisors regarding unwanted incidents such as sickness of labor, theft in accommodation or site, and major and minor accidents that took place in camp or accommodation.
Procedure to go out of camp on holidays or for a day's leave:
Labor staff should inform their supervisors one day prior to leaving the camp for a day's leave. For long-term leave, labor's supervisor needs to coordinate with the HR Department with details.
Procedure to leave the camp:
1. Proper leave application.
2. Site clearance.
3. Handing over of returnable materials.
4. Passing the information in writing to the camp Supervisor, boss/security at the Labor Camp.
