Which are the steps should be included in the process of employee background verification?

The process of employee background verification may consist steps as -
Verification of personal details of new joining employee like Present/permanent address,education certificates.
Verification of professional/experience details like past all working details industry/wise.
checking of both above details along with original documentary proofs as mentioned in his/her joining form and resume by himself.
Verification from at least two persons mentioned in the joining form/resume, through any means of communication whether from his old working colleague or from any family member to check /cross check the genuineness of above declared information to nullify the fake practice.
