When you allotted these company's assets to the employee, did you obtain loan card from him? If yes, did you renew it any time. Secondly, what about gate pass? Did security have any records when the company material went out of the company premises? You need to have evidence of this property allotment. Sans all this, there is no point in sending a recovery letter to him.
By the way, if the employee has left in the month of March, then why there is such a long delay in initiation of recovery process? Who was responsible for this delay? The next questions is did he abscond from his duties? Did he take clearance from all the departments? Why the employee was cleared from your organisation?
