Nothing needs to be done further and you need not to give him any termination letter. It will terminate automatically by flux of time. At the best you may think of informing him in advance saying that as per terms of the appointment his tenure will expire on so and so date.I presume that the date of the commencement of employment must have been mentiond in the said appointment letter. Six months have to be computed from that date.

NOTICE OF TERMINATION OF EMPLOYMENT WITH .......................(“the Company’)
The management would like to inform you that your employment with the Company shall be terminated.
This is a Notice of Termination of your employment with .........................“the Company” You are required to work with us till ............... 2009.
We hereby give you 30 days written notice of the termination of your employment contract with immediate effect. We shall be paying off the thirty days (30) notice period from (1st July 2009 – 31st July 2009). Your last payment will be issued to you end month of July 2009.
As per your Employment Contract, you are required to do a proper handover of all passwords, files, instruction manuals, confidential documents, stationeries, keys, name cards, membership card, daily planner, new member log, lanyard, name tag, office access card and all other properties belonging to the Company to your Manager/Supervisor which were made available to you previously (the “Said Clearance”) to be completed on or before 31st July 2009.
