Dear Simran, Go to your boss with some problem like that type of which will be solved only by him related to your organization and then you can put up your issues.

Ms. Simran,
There is no age limit of learning. As mentioned by u that ur Bose is very busy in his area of working because that is his working style. As u r in HR, u can approach training department to provide u some training of needed function. Remember one thing u can't expect from a boss that he will teach u each n every thing. He is suppose to guide u at each level but not all the time pl. Do study many HR functional material from websites & try to link wid ur current organization.
Make it a point, u n only u need some enthusiasm for the same. All d very best !!

Refer old records to how PF; ESI etc... calculated. Ask your friends who are working in the same field. Follow trial and error method.

you start looking at existing records and then search on same topic on net or gather enough information. then see if it matches or follow the best practices in same industry. see the scope of improving current practices and what needs to be done.
you can share with hr people on citehr forum also. do discuss with you manager about your findings.
slowly you will start learning in your domain.....
