Dear all members, I have been working in a Government of India undertaking Pvt. Ltd. company for the last 5 years. This company falls under the control of the Health and Family Welfare Ministry and has two types of employees: permanent and contract. The contract period is one year, after which it will be renewed at regular intervals with no breaks in between. Salaries are consolidated, with yearly increments based on certain rules that I am unclear about. I work in the HR department as an Assistant, with a basic pay currently at Rs. 6000/-, recently enhanced to Rs. 7600/-, and a 12% PF deduction.

Some Doubts I Have Are as Follows:

1. Which rule governs contract employment in the central government?
2. Are contract employees eligible for permanent employment and other benefits?
3. What does the salary structure of a contract employee comprise?
4. Can a contract employee secure a permanent job in the Government?

Thank you.

Dear all members,

I am working in a Government of India undertaking Pvt. Ltd. company for the last 5 years. This company has two types of employees: permanent and contract. The contract period is one year, after which it will be renewed at regular intervals with no break in this period. The salary will be consolidated, and an increment will be given each year. The increment will be given based on certain rules, which I do not understand. I am engaged in the HR department as an Assistant, and my basic pay is Rs. 6000/-. Now it has been enhanced up to Rs. 7600/- with a 12% PF deduction. Some doubts arising from my side are stated below:

1. Contract employment in the central government is governed by which rule?
2. Is a contract employee eligible for permanent employment and other benefits?
3. What does his salary structure comprise?
4. If a contract employee gets a permanent job in Government service (state/central), will the contract period be considered or not?
5. Is a contract employee eligible for gratuity or not?

Deepu
