Six Sigma is a lean manufacturing process technique for continual improvement of quality and quantity. It is an effective and powerful tool for manufacturing and production.

Total Quality Management (TQM)

Total Quality Management refers to product manufacturing to delivery, encompassing quality norms such as QMS, ISO, etc., which are integral parts of the entire business process.

TQM and Six Sigma are both related to the quality aspect of any work. The Six Sigma technique can be very precise, whereas TQM focuses on checking the overall working process.

A company approved as Six Sigma will have good TQM measures, but a company implementing TQM processes may not necessarily be Six Sigma approved.
