ESI will not reimburse any medical expenses for any employee or his dependant. When employee or his dependant or sick they will issue medicines and if required they will extend medical / hospitalization facility in the ESI dispensaries / Hospitals. If the ill health is not curable at the ESI owned hospitals then the ESI authorities will refer them to the corporate / Government hospital where the facility is available and they will directly clear the bill.

In case of emergency if the employee or his/her dependant is directly get admitted in to the nearby corporate hospital then very next day the employee/ his/her representatives should approach the corncened ESI dispensary / the RMO brief the situation and obtain a reference letter and submit to the concerned corporate hospital so that they can extend the treatment and the bill shall be settled by the ESI.

Medication and treatment will be immediately on coverage, the benefit like leave payment etc will be after 9 months of coverage (benefit period) exempted for accidents etc.

Regards - kamesh
