Hi Soumya,
Basically its depend on size and structure of Co./Organization.
Take a instance of Pvt Ltd/Propertiorship where employee strength is only 25. There should be HR deptt in general consensus. But if you observe, u'll find that there is only 1 man who handle all the activities related to manpower.
I do hope that this will help you.
Plz ask if any clarification.

Hi Soumya,
I would like to give thanks to you from bottom of my heart that u gave me chance to help you out in this regard.
Further, as per your query that which will be ur next designation. So, again I m saying that if ur organization is well managed and listed, in that case u'll be promoted as an "Assistant Manager-HR" after this u'll go for "Deputy Manager-HR" after that u'll go for "HR Manager" and so on the vertical line of HR.
I do hope that now u understand the line of hierarchy.
plz ask if any clarification.

yes, as the people above said its depend upon the size of the organization and size of the work force and the organizations career policies. If it is large firm the career progression of a HR in the initial stages that is once you come out from a college it starts as follows .
management trainee - Jr.executive - Sr.executive - officer - Sr.officer - assistant manager - deputy general manager - manager - Sr.manager - assistant general manager - deputy general manager - general manager - vice president - Sr.vice- president - director.

for every designation the word "HR " will be added. example=== Raghavan vyas , general manager (HR) XYZ company.
hope u got it and any further queries u can post me at "raghubobbala@gmail.com"
