Hi Everyone,
I have completed my BMS (Bachelor of Management Studies) from Mumbai, and I have worked at TCS as a US payroll specialist and worked on SAP. I have been selected at Jamia Millia Islamia University in Delhi for the M.A. in HRM and MBA courses, which offer Major and Minor specializations. The M.A. in HRM batch consists of 20-25 people, while the MBA will have 60 participants. My goal is to become an HR manager.
Although I believe the M.A. in HRM offers better learning opportunities as it is a 2-year HR course, many have advised me to pursue an MBA in HR because, in the corporate world from a long-term perspective, having an MBA is preferred over an M.A. in HRM due to its brand recognition. If anyone has insights about Jamia University and which course would be better, your advice would be greatly appreciated.
I have attached information about both courses. Please take a moment to advise me.
Thank you.

From value addition point of view... MBA would do better. I think MBA has got an edge over MA in the corporate world. I would suggest you to go for MBA. Regards, Shijit.

You should go for MBA rather than MA. Shijit has rightly mentioned that MBA is given more weightage over MA in corporate world. Regards, Vineet

Hi buddy, I would also suggest you go for an MBA in HR. I just completed my MBA in HR, Sales, and Marketing. The content and value are higher when you compare an MA in HR with an MBA in HR. I wish you all the best, have fun.

Hi Rajendra,
Even I felt the same since I have already studied most of the management subjects in graduation. MA in HRM would be better from a learning point of view. However, after receiving feedback here and talking to a few close ones, it seems that from an opportunity perspective in the future, especially in case I go abroad anytime soon, a degree in MBA could be more beneficial. Perhaps studying the same subject again concept-wise could be in my favor. I'll stay in touch here with CiteHR site to learn as much as I can from you guys. :)
