Ours is a multi-locational company, and we are now starting the first greenfield project in A.P. As per Section 2A, we want a new PF code independent from our existing units. When we approached the local PF office, he said he could not give us a separate code but could only provide a subcode under Section 3A (considering them as departments or branches).
Is it possible to obtain a new PF registration code, not a subcode, even though my company's other units exist in other states? Additionally, could someone explain - is it a requirement that if a subcode is issued to an organization, during an audit, is it necessary to present documents from both the parent and branch organizations? Please assist with these two queries.

Finally, we did not get a subcode but received a separate code. I have completed the standard Form 5A application, Proforma for coverage, and the form for the allotment of Business Number for registration. If you still have any queries, please feel free to contact me.
