Hello folks,

I am a native of Haryana (Faridabad) and work for an organization based in New Delhi. On 13th October 2009, we have the state legislative election in Haryana, so my question is, will I get paid leave for casting my vote? I request you to provide the notification issued by the ECI (Election Commission of India). I think no employer can debar an employee from his/her fundamental right of casting their vote. Please do let me know what the GOI rules say.

Best Regards

Hi Rupinder Bedi!!

Yes, you can have a paid holiday for the same as per the Haryana Govt. General Administration Department Notification. The copy of the same is enclosed herewith for your reference. I got the same from CiteHR only.
