Dear Seniors,
In PF - 19 & 10C form what is Date of leaving
e.g. - Employee worked upto 13th September 2009 ( last day of working ) so 13th September, 2009 or 14th September, 2009 would be date of leaving???

Dear prashant,
do not be confussed. Date of leaving as per any act and also in general, will be the last working day only. In your eg.13th will be the date of leaving. As at the close of 13th, the outgoing person has to handover charge and go out, whether termination or retirement or resignation or whatever be the form of leaving out. it is very clear on the next day i.e 14th he is nothing to with the company affairs. So it is very clear 13th closing hour of his work will be the date of leaving.
I think you will be clear now.

Dear Prashant,

I can also make you clear one point, when one man who dies in the factory or office, on 13th. what will be the last working day for him. the day of death only natually. In other cases also the same. In other cases all or going alive on the closing hours of 13th only. That is the day upto which the company will liable to pay full and final settlement. The company is nothing do with him on the next day. Kindly make a point clear that the last working day would be the last payable day by the employer and also be the date of leaving. On the next day there is no employer or employee relation.

like wise one who completes his third shift on 13th 10 p.m. to 14th 6.00 a.m. (8hrs). for him also the last working day would be 13th only since he is doing the duty for 13th only even though he is coming out by 6.00 a.m by next morning.for this case also 13th would be the date of leaving, since his last working for the day of scheduled work for 13th only.

call me in 9710119631 for any more doubt

Dear prasanth, I go with Mr. Ganeshan, he has given you very clear picture. It is correct. 13th is the last day for the employee. you have to show in PF Forms with that date only. Regards Venkatesh B

Hi,
You should treat that date as date relieving till which you have paid PF for particular employee....
As per the above example...
Employee left on 13th of the month, say if the PF amount was paid till 13th, then the Date of leaving in Form 10 C and 19 should be 13th...and if it is paid till end of that month, we should consider as 30th or 31st of that month should be considered as DOL...

A very valid doubt raised by a HR colleague. It should be understood that the last working day is the same as date of leaving. If your company has a practice of issuing releiving letters, it clearly states that - XYZ would be relived by the closing hours of ddmmyyyy. So one should not get confused with the terminology used to describe the same thing. The employer /employee relationship ceases on the last working day of the employee in the organisation.

it would be 13th sep 09,coz it was your last day of working .if you throw in ur time at office in next day than it would be 14th instead of 13th.
