Dear all,

If an employee has completed 58 years of age and is now 60 years old while still in service, is the PF contribution still payable to him, or can it be stopped with immediate effect?

Please reply with suitable suggestions.

Thanks,
Murthy

If he is a covered employee, he can continue. However, the employer's share of 12% should not be bifurcated. The entire 12% should be deposited in his EPF account, not as 8.33% in the Pension fund account and the balance, 3.67% in the Provident Fund account.

If such an employee was earlier a member of the Employees' Provident Fund but had withdrawn his EPF benefits in full and has now reemployed, then he need not be covered.
