One of my employees previously worked in one company but they left at the time of Corona now she is working in another company for the last 3 years but they did not deduct PF as it was a small organisation, now they want to start to deduct PF from my friend's salary so the same UAN which was generated 4 years ago - will be same of any other member id or PF account generated by the new company?

Hi, Only same UAN to be used. Once UAN is created new employer cannot create another new UAN. However PF number will be new which will vary from Company to Company.

UAN present Universal Account Number. So once it is generated to any employees , will not be allotted to same UAN number to other employee. in fact you can activate previous UAN and start to deposit the monthly contribution in same UAN. in Service history your all employment ( for EPF Contribution) will display here.

Same UAN can be activated and used. It is a unique number and can be generated only once for an individual. Further, if your company is planning to implement PF recovery, please also focus on e-nomination for all employees who are covered under PF Scheme. Individual PF number will be allotted by the company and hence, it may vary from company to company.
