Dear Chum,:icon1:
Thanx for starting a thread like this which is really related to HR.
I am aggressive:x. From the age of 15-16, I had a lot of loss because of my aggressiveness. My voice is a 'LITTLE' high. The tone I write memos sounds like 'scolding'.
I wanted to change this when I got my first job in a hospital as Admin Asst. When somebody comes late from leave, comes late to duty regularly my aggressiveness came out.
A nursing student cried when I scolded her for going to accommodation during duty time regularly. She became my friend later. She tried her best to change my character. She was a nightingale. (Will my wife read this :huh:)
Still, I have not changed. But now if any employee/labor make any mistake, their manager say 'you will be sent to Sadique.'
Is it +ve or _ve?

To convert weakness into power is only a state of mind , if we think we are strong we are, just change the state of mind.

Dear Chum
I have some weakness,
One of them is I am generally not speaking more with more gathered people (ie people more than 3-4).
And anothe weakness is
In a group discussion when I woould like to tell a smiple thing I feel myself very afraied or very difficult to speak.
Please tell me what is my Consequence & Means of transformation for my these two weakness.

Hi Gayathri,
It seems U r conscious, but hesitate to practice.
1.When your conscience says NO, donot commit.U may say "I don't promise....
2.To your Boss:- u may try "Yes...But..." technique to start with.( e.g- Yes Boss,I see your point but One may look into....... possibilty too !)
3.Start slowly.....But Start. That's the Mantra.
Otherwise U'll be exploited & Ur Goodness will be taken as Ur Weakness by people around U !

Hi Mammu,
You are just opposite to Gayathri. You both are in two Extremities.Being aggressive is no good, but, be ASSERTIVE. Try to understand others' problem, feel Sympathy and to the next step, feel Empathy. Listen what people says, analyze the issues in practical senario.The most important is provide solutions for problems and not scoldings. Don't be too emotional, don't take decisions whn u r emotional. Mammu, nobody is perfect in this world and so you n me, human beings are bounded with problems, so, being HR, we have to act as a catalyst. Be Assertive....Lemme knw if u have any queries....Keep rockin.....:icon1:

Hi Mahesh,
Mind, which is a very powerful organ and one doesn't know its real power. Changing the state of Mind is pretty tough task, where controlling plays a vital roll. Thanks for raising the word "Mind", as u said it is basic of our attitude n behaviour....Good job....Keep rockin....:icon1:

2. Do you think others vl make you fool in front of others?

Hii All,
Thank You Chum for starting this thread.
My first weakness is that i cannot communicate well with my seniors. Here the language is not a drawback.Its just that i do not know what to talk about. Its only work and nothing else.
And my second weakness is that i cannot maintain my contacts. If i loose touch with any my senior people i do not knw how to start back. The question again stands to be " What to start with?"
Please hepl me overcome this weakness

Thanx for your valuable reply. And I really appreciate your effort to help others. You are so patient dear 'Chumm'!:).
I am learning to be Assertive from now onwards! I already started. One employee came with some 'family health insurance' matter today. Normally, I should ask him for orginal salary slip for last 3 months. If he didnt bring, he has to regenerate it from Payroll division.
Instead of asking 'originals' I prepare his document for reimbursement.
My assistant asked with wonder: "Why didnt you insist for original salary slip?!"
I told him: "I know he recieved normal salary for last 3 months. His baby girls is hospitalized. We should understand the situation!"
By the way, I am going to prepare a presentation on 'ASSERTIVNESS'.

Hi KLD,
Niz tat u hav found out ur weakness. Very simple, u r lagging Interpersonal skill, nothin to worry, this is a common weakness. KLD, answer me the following questions, this is very easy to break.
Do you hav this problem with ur friends?
Do you prefer calm places to noisy?
Do you feel comfortable talking with strangers?
Do you feel your voice sounds feeble?
Lemme Know, lets break this li'l nut......
