we have 35 employees in our company out of which 18 persons are permannet and balance are temporarily appointed.
pl inform whether PF should be paid for all or the permannet employees only.

Your company will be covered under Provident Fund Act. It is immaterial whether employeees are temporary. On any day preceeding 12 months if you company engaged 20 or more employees from that day PF will be applicable.
Temporary modus operandi engaged on work by the company...Temporary employees are employees read the definition of employee under PF Act....

Once the organization is covered under PF / ESI acts all the people ie., Permanent, Temporary, Casual, Contract etc ., except Apprentices are to be covered under this act and contributions are to be paid. A seperate rule for the employees whose Basic + DoA+ VDA is more than Rs.6500/- pm wrt PF., and those employees monthly wages are over and above Rs.10000/- are exempted under ESI.
Even contractor is not remitting the PF amount as a principle employer we are responsible to pay the contribution and deduct to that extent from the bill payable to the contractor.

Unless the figure of 20 is reached PF is not mandatory for a company... but even if the figure is 20 and there are more than 5 persons with basic above 10000 than what happends? please guide.
