Hello Sir,
The last company I was working had mailed me an appointment letter stating-Timing ,DOJ, Salary.
However my salary had increased thereafter and we were not provided with hard copies of offer letter/appointment letter.
Will the soft copy suffice as a suitable document? Senior members please answer my query.

Hi Ashle,
Soft copy wouldn't suffice as a suitable document. When you join a new Company, they woyuld always ask for the Hardcopy of all documents from your previous employer. So it would be safe for you to obtain the hardcopy from your previous employer.

Any softcopy remains a valid document from the legal point of view. It helps if the email is from the company server. But then again to be on the safer side, its the legal point of view ...... its best to have the hard copy.

Looking at it logically, the employer is not doing his documentation to help you get a better job.
He is only going to do what makes sense for him.
So, it makes enough sense for the employer to inform you on email that you have an increment and what your new salary structure is. Nothing in law makes it compulsory for him to give it to you in writing.
You can take a print of it and keep for your records
It will also reflect in your pay slip (which is required by law to be given to you)
That will suffice for any new employer who you are planning to join.
