In the above scenario, the HR can orally inform the Bank Manager by sending he details of the employees. Besides, some Banks request such letters for their equivalence correspondance. Make use of the below letter, if any changes required to be made in possesion whereever necessary.

With reference to the above captioned subject, please note that our HR Department have opened Bank account(s) for employees with you good Bank and these employees are now separated from our company due to resignation or termination. Hence the management has decided to close the accounts of such employees.
We request you to kindly do the needful. Your assistance in this regard will be highly appreciated.

I donot find any reason for the company taking steps to close the Salary Account of employee either resigned or terminated. The Salary Account is not opened by the company. In other words, the Company had only facilitated with bank enabling the employee/worker to open an account. So you have no right to call for the bank to close the account of employee. The bank can neither close the account without the consent of the employee. The Bank has option only to withdraw the concessions that it had extended to employee based on the Salary Account & not other wise.
So i advise not to take any steps for doing so.
The banks will not close the accounts because you ask
In fact they will nt close it since it will show negatively in th performance appraisals.
What you are required to do with most banks (it's in the terms you signed when being given a salary account facility) is to inform them when the employee leaves. They will then change the status of the accounts. In any case they would do it when no salary is paid for 3 months. However your being proactive on this helps prevent problem and fraud where someone may apply for a loan without informing the bank that they left. I have seen it happen in our own office
So, modify the above letter.
Instead of saying close the account, just say "we wish to inform you that the following employees are no longer working itch our organisation. You may update your records accordingly." Of course you have to give bank account numbers for each of them
