Hi All,
I am working as an HR Manager in one software firm.
I was a little confused between experience certificate & service Certificate. Is their any difference between the two or not?
I think they both are the same. Please suggest.
Regards,
Pranathi

Dear
both are same but have different name.
when an employee serves a company that company has to give experience letter or service certificate to that employee for serving those many years or months or days.

Service certificate usually certifies the position and the duration. It is more of a contractual doc.
Experience letter usually elaborates on the nature of work done. It is more of a supporting doc to what you have done.

Experience & service certificates are different..
Service certificate can be given to any of the employee on his request while he is working with the same company.
Experience cerificate can be given to any employee after his resignation / While leaving.

  • There could be many formats of Experience / Service Certificates. Each HR Manager may come up with his own format and there is no end to it.
  • Can any body tell what difference it makes if we interchange the names of so called Service Certificate and Experience Certificate ?
  • There is no difference between the two and both convey the same meaning and can be used interchangeably.

Dear All,
I would like to put some light on service certificate.
The format is prescribed by our law and its mandatory on the part of employer to issued even if the employee is terminated.
Service certificate can be considered as set and experience letter as subset.
we can design our own experience letter but service certificate is designed by the act unsder which establishment is registered.
Kindly check the attachment to see service certificate format.

Dear Pranti,
Experience letter is to be given on completion of term of employment with firm; hence it should be given on reliving of employment or thereafter

Service Letter can be given to employee on special request in confirmation his employment with origination to which associated.
