Hi All,

I am Neha, working at Suma Soft Pvt Ltd in Pune, specializing in recruitments. We have been focusing on the Java Architect position since October 2007, but to date, we have not been able to fill the requirement. Our organization is small-scale, comprising 65 resources, and we are proud to be an ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 certified company. Initially, we sought candidates with a minimum of 4.5 years of experience with a package range of 7lpa. However, we have now revised our requirements to a minimum of 6 years of experience, offering a package range of 9lpa.

We have encountered challenges in closing this position. Despite utilizing various strategies such as job portals like Monster, consultants' referrals, and newspaper advertisements, we have interviewed over 30 candidates to no avail. Given our size, the responsibilities are substantial, combining team management, client management, and technical duties such as high-end design and architectural understanding.

Could anyone suggest alternative recruiting methods to help us fill this role?

Regards,

Neha Deshpande

Dear Neha,

In such a situation, you can try the following options:

1. Employee referral. You can also announce some winning amount (this really works).

2. Head Hunt - Identify companies in a similar profession and then conduct a search.

Neha

Greetings from GroupHR!!!

You are trying to recruit a person in the salary and experience band which is identical to a big IT company. That's such a difficult ask because normally people with such skill sets are recruited easily in big-sized firms. Rather than selling salary to prospective employees, you can sell them the challenge and growth. That may bring you some suitable profiles.

The best way to do that is through consultants because they have the option of leaving the salary open, which you don't have. It is a fact that if the position is so critical to your company, you can always go one or two lakhs here or there.

We have done a Java architect position in the past, and we would be willing to be associated with you in this search. We are a staffing solution firm based in "New Delhi," and I am attaching a PPT for your perusal.

Hi Neha,

Thank you for the suggestion you provided. We also tried Employee Referral, and the amount decided by the Management was Rs 10,000 only. However, there have been no responses to that email.

I have also explored another option by reaching out to similar companies and headhunting potential candidates from there. Unfortunately, this approach has not been successful due to the issue with CTC.

We are seeking a candidate who has experience with various technologies and is a perfect fit for Suma Soft, capable of joining us and starting work immediately. The required technologies include JSP, Servlets, MVC Struts, SQL, Architecture, Designing (Database), a good understanding of JSF, XML, Business domain understanding, problem-solving skills, etc. Additionally, familiarity with Hibernate and Spring is essential.

If you have any further suggestions, please let me know. I have been handling this requirement single-handedly for the past four months.
