Dear Chakri,
I have been helping Organizations and individuals discover their competencies and determine those that are required for the performance on the job. Thereby helping to plug the gaps that surface.
Please find attached an article on "Why Competencies Matter?"
If you need any further information do let me know.

Hi Chakri,
:) 'Competencies' are defined in domain specific, i.e. a particular set of qualities may act to be effective in a particular situation.
You may take it in the following form :
Effectiveness = function of (Perception, Attitude, Domain Knowledge, Learning, Organizational parameters .. )
In which, Organizational psychologists are concerned with attributing the 'human' factor of 'potentially effective' skills that are required to complete the job effectively. If you tell me in which area of training you are working presently, probably I may try to be of some help. Lots of inventories are available, however each work in a different set of circumstances.
Regards.
