I have a question for the HR members here. If a company's logo has changed, then apart from the correspondence, do we also need to change the ID card of all the existing employees, or can they continue with the same? What is the correct approach?

Hi,

In the case of a change in the company's logo, primarily a new letterhead with the revised logo should be printed. Regarding ID cards, it would be good to change them. However, if the number of employees is on the higher side and the cost factor will be more significant, there is nothing wrong with continuing to use the existing ID cards. For new joiners, ID cards with the new logo can be printed. These practices are employer-specific, and there are no hard and fast rules.

I think no emergency is involved. It's for better operational exigencies that the logo on IDs can be reprinted at the soonest so that cost factor is taken care of. Normally, ID cards are replaced periodically as over time, the color fades in about a year or so due to frequent use. In order to clear the air, HR Admin should issue a general circular stating that IDs in use can be recognized until new IDs with new logos are printed. Any new prints can feature the new logos.
