My previous employer is claiming that the signature on my relieving letter and other documents is not his. He is the CEO of my previous company and was my reporting manager. He signed all the documents himself, and now he is denying it just to harass me. Due to this, my background verification has come back as red. My current employers want an email from the CEO again stating that the documents are genuine and the signature on them is his only, but the CEO is not cooperating.

What should I do?

Unbelievable! How can a person, that too a CEO of a company deny his own signature? Whether the poster got any other document like offer/appointment letter signed by the same person?

Hi, Looks very strange. Do you have any email communication confirming your relieving? Please check. This indicates that there is some unresolved issue between you and your ex-employer. Resolve it amicably.
