Background of the Legal Issue
In the third year of my college, a fight between students took place in which I, along with six others, were accused under sections 325 and 323. One boy from our side had his hand fractured. However, our college did not allow us to file a cross FIR. Therefore, we proceeded with a general diary, and with the college's intervention, the matter was settled. Subsequently, we approached the high court for quashing after the charge sheet was filed. Fortunately, the high court quashed our case, and it was closed three months ago.
Concerns About Background Verification
I have recently received an offer letter from TCS, and they have initiated the background verification process, requesting a non-criminal affidavit. I am concerned about the impact of my past legal issue on my job prospects. Will this incident affect my chances? Will it be reflected in the background verification process?
Please advise on how to proceed. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

You should ask your advocate to make a Non-Criminal Affidavit and submit it. Ask your advocate to check with the police station where the complaint was lodged to see if the case has been closed. It is often observed that many times police stations do not update their records even after a court order.
The non-criminal affidavit is simply a declaration by the candidate that currently, there are no pending cases under your name. Since the case has been closed, there should not be any problems at all.
I do not think this will be reflected in your Background Verification (BGV). You should remain calm, composed, and not feel the need to discuss this matter with anyone else.
