Hi Friends,

I have just joined a company as an Assistant HR Manager where they haven't paid the PF amount for the last six months. I have now received a notice from the PF office (it's a summons). What will be the punishment or what are the documents that I have to carry to that hearing?

Help me with this...

Hi,

According to labor law, you have to pay a fine depending on the number of days you are delayed in meeting the requirements. Although there is a clause for imprisonment for up to one year, that scenario rarely occurs. Therefore, it is advisable to pay the penalty as per the rules stipulated by the regional PF office and settle the matter promptly.

Dear,

Please do your homework by making a note or explanation. Non-payment of PF is a criminal offense akin to cheating. Please seek legal advice and prepare a roadmap for solving the issue. The first step is the payment of the defaulted amounts.
