Legal Registration Process for Independent Contractors with International Companies in India - CiteHR

Greetings! I am a Recruitment Consultant with 13 years of experience. However, for the last 6 years, I have been working as an Independent Contractor for international companies based in the US and Europe. I am at a stage where I would like to get registered as an Independent Contractor legally in India. Are there any ways I can do it, or is it possible?

I am not sure what you mean...

Business Structure Options

You may operate as a proprietary organization or you may form an LLP. Form a company if the volume of work will be really large because the cost of keeping a company running is expensive.

Forming an LLP

If you want to form an LLP, you can do so on the MCA website. You will need a CA/CS to help with some of the procedures. Once that is done, get a PAN Card under the LLP name.

GST Registration Requirement

Apart from that, the only other requirement is that if your turnover will be over ₹20 lakhs, you need to register under GST.
