Hello all, I am an ex-employee of TCS from May 2011 till Nov 2012. After my exit, I had duly received all my relieving letters and service/experience letter in hard copy. Using the same, I had joined many other big companies. But suddenly, a few days back, I realized that I had misplaced the hard copy of the experience letter and the scanned copy is also deleted.

How to Get the Service/Experience Letter Reissued by TCS

What is the way to get the service/experience letter reissued by TCS, and how long does it typically take? I have all other joining letters and the relieving letters from the same, and also the last 3 months of payslips. I am in urgent need of these documents to move on in my career; any suggestion would be of great help.

Discussing with HR for Duplicate Documents

You need to discuss with the HR department of TCS to get their suggestions regarding the issue of obtaining duplicates for lost documents.

Send a request letter to all employers, including your details such as Employee Number, Date of Joining (DOJ), Date of Leaving (DOL), and Department. Request the issuance of duplicate release and service/experience letters as the original documents have been lost. It is advisable to attach a copy of the police complaint filed for the lost documents along with the request letter.

Alternatively, you can seek advice from a lawyer on whether a miscellaneous case can be filed in court to compel the employer to issue duplicate documents.
