Hello All,
Earlier I was an HR executive but right now I am working as a Teacher in an international School. It's a newly opened school.
I recently joined the school as PRT Maths and received the Appointment letter, further for some official use they again asked upon the Appointment letter and then returned back, I kept it with in my file and later didn't find it, unfortunately I have not kept it's soft copy even, as I am new to the organization don't know, with whom to discuss and what and the thing is that I am not finding the management as very smooth and employees' friendly.......please guide me what should I do and what problems could arrive on my ways to deal with and even how to deal with them....

Hi,
Appointment letters are normally 2 copies: One for the appointee (employee) and one for the appointer (employer). Schools have administrative offices, you can ask and request to have a copy again since you lost yours. They are keeping file of you for sure. I don't see any issues asking the admin's desk, plus you're just being honest with it. They just need to copy it for you.

Hiiii Shallohal,
Thanks for your valuable suggestion, but my problem is that here, in my school, the management is not supporting the employees, one of my colleague immediately joined here after the interview and did not receive any appointment letter, further she requested a lot for appointment letter but management didn't provide and later she has been terminated by the management for certain errors in her work......
I am bothering a lot that if my appointment letter has been taken by someone intensionally then what?......

Hi,
Well, for that I can see 2 things now: you lost your appointment letter or someone took it from you. The latter could be jumping to conclusion. You have to be certain. At first you informed that it was returned to you --please ensure this. If you're not sure if it was returned, ask that person to return it to you.
For the case of your school's management, I can't be able to judge for the reason of one incident. Honestly, it was a mistake from your colleague as he/she did not ask for the appointment letter. As I understand it is not an obligation of the school's management to inform publicly what was the reason behind the termination. There could be deeper reasons because as a new school one cannot just terminate an employee (or one cannot just afford to lose an teacher) if there were no gross negligence. Just saying.. Another is that, not explaining to all about the termination is also to protect the integrity for both teacher and management. If I am assuming probably you just heard one-side of the story.
Anyway, there is no harm in asking back your appointment letter. But one thing you can do is you can wait for your payroll. The payslip is a proof that you are an employee (If I am guessing right that you are afraid that you do not have any leverage or any document proof of you being an employee of that school). After receiving payslip you can go and ask your appointment letter.
Can you be able to register to this site? Thanks.
