As per the new amendment, we have to consider all allowances for PF. Generally, we consider 12% on Basic + DA. However, I am a little confused about the allowance contribution in PF. Is it considered as (Basic + DA + allowance) equal to 12%, or only Basic & DA 12%? What is the percentage of allowances, and how is PF calculated on allowances?

Please guide me.

Understanding the New Labour Code on Wages

Please note that, as per the recently introduced new Labour Code, in the definition of the word "wages," components such as House Rent Allowance, Overtime allowance, commission, and travel allowance are excluded. Therefore, the liability of contributions of employees and employers under the EPF Act and ESI Act will be reduced.
