I have been working as an HR Generalist for almost 3 years in a small-sized organization with 12 to 18 employees. Even though I am satisfied with what I am doing (mostly recruitment, payroll, and employee relations - no statutory responsibilities as they are not applicable), my boss is always very cooperative with me regarding any work-related issues. However, I really want to progress to the next level of HRM. I am unsure of what this next level entails and how to reach it.

My main concern is that I am uncertain whether what I am currently doing aligns with best practices in the field of HR. How can I determine this? Should I work with a larger number of employees in a different organization? Do I need to upgrade my skills? If so, what skills are essential in the current market scenario? Is it beneficial for me to pursue certifications such as SHRM CP or PHR to enhance my career prospects? I hold an MBA in HR from a tier 2 college under the University of Mysore.

Dear Senior, if my concerns are relevant, please kindly assist me.
