Dear Akash, Before replying to your query, let me ask you a question - why is employee training conducted? Employee training is conducted for the following reasons:

a) To reduce costs
b) To minimize the consumption of resources
c) To decrease the turnaround time of processes
d) To increase or decrease certain ratios

Therefore, I recommend determining the number of hours for employee training after establishing the goal you wish to achieve. What is the purpose of training if no results or positive changes are attained?

Yes, some companies, including large ones, allocate a certain number of hours per employee per financial year. However, we should not blindly follow their practices.

Employee training is not merely a formality where a training calendar is created and detailed records are kept of planned versus executed training programs. Instead of numerous training programs, focus on a few but also measure the impact of the training. Some departments may need additional hours to bring about change. It is acceptable to create an imbalance in the allocation of training hours to achieve organizational change.
