I have a question regarding FNF settlement. I was working with an IT MNC. I had signed a bond of 12 months with the employer. However, I resigned from my position after 58 days due to some unforeseen and unfortunate event in my family. Can I request my HR to reduce the FNF settlement as my financial situation is pretty bad right now? Can I ask for a reduced amount that I have to pay for breaking the bond? I did not abscond. I emailed my HR and my manager that it is not possible for me to serve the notice period as my immediate family member is fatally ill and no physical help is present here. I want to stay with my family, and as my financials are not good, I want to request a reduced amount. Originally, the bond was for 75000. To what extent can I ask for a reduction?

Did the MNC impart any special training for you? What position did you hold in the MNC? On what basis was Rs 75,000 decided upon by the MNC? What was the exit/notice period specified for you? Kindly put the bond in the forum with personal details masked. Let experts here read the clauses. The claim by the MNC appears to be an exaggerated amount and may not stand in a court of law. The bond per se appears to be an imposition of forced labor. Consult a labor advocate; you may not need to pay anything to the MNC as the bond itself can be questioned.

I was posted as a project engineer. We were not given any specialized training. They called it individual learning, and we were given systems where we had some tech module to complete and pass a test. One ma'am used to come as a mentor; she used to hardly stay 2 hours per day.
Apart from this, some 3 days of corporate training where we were taught how to work with peers and did some group activities like making a team, coming up with innovative ideas, and representing them or selling an innovative product, etc.
I don't have the soft copy of the bond, but I have my joining letter. I am posting it here for others to see. I was on probation, and the notice period was 30 days, but I had not started working. I had just finished my training of 52 days (7 weeks of technical and 1 week corporate).
We were not given any dedicated training. It was almost self-learning apart from the mentor coming and checking on us. As far as I remember, the bond was on normal paper, not on any judicial paper. We were not given any soft copy of the bond.
