Navigating Job Changes and Career Progression in the IT Industry - Senior Software Engineer Role - CiteHR

I have completed BCA and then pursued my MCA in 2012. I utilized a 2+ years of experience letter from company X to secure a job at an IT Consultancy (A), which then assigned me to their client side at B.

Upon joining company A, I disclosed that I had only completed BCA and had over 2 years of experience working at IT company X. They offered me the position of Senior Software Engineer. After being on company A's payroll for 6 months, I was directly hired by company B.

Company X is located in my hometown and is genuinely an IT company that provides experience letters. Companies A & B are based in Bangalore. In March 2017, due to family reasons, I had to return to my hometown and rejoin company X. They hired me directly but at a lower pay scale. Subsequently, they provided genuine salary slips and Form 16.

Now, I am considering changing my job again. I am concerned that if I present my genuine documents to the next company, which include:

A (6 months, June 12 - Nov 12),
B (4 years, Nov 12 - Mar 17 - hired as SSE, promoted to module lead),
X (Mar 17 - present).

They will likely inquire about my initial designation at company A, i.e., Senior Software Engineer. I am contemplating concealing my experiences at companies A & B and showing that I have been exclusively working at company X for the past 4 years (post completing my MCA). However, I am aware that issues may arise regarding the PF/UAN number since company X does not have PF deductions.

Please advise on the best course for my career and what I should opt for.

I would suggest you disclose the actual details to your next employer and not mislead them. The world has become very transparent, and background checks are strong.

As far as salary and designation are concerned, you can always negotiate a win-win with the next employer.
