I have resigned from a company due to many personal and professional reasons without serving the notice period. Let me point out the details:
1. After the interviews, I received an email stating the salary and all, but there was nothing mentioned about the notice period or any bond.
2. To my surprise, at the time of joining, they had me sign the offer letter, which included a clause stating "I have to stay there for a minimum of 1 year," with no mention of consequences in case of a breach.
3. In the offer letter, there was no mention of the notice period; the only reference was to a 6-month probation period. (However, I suspect there may be details regarding the notice period in the company manual.)
4. I submitted my resignation from my personal email after informing my managers and promptly responding to all calls and emails.
Now, I have received a legal notice demanding a significant compensation amount, alleging that I absconded from employment. I had only been with them for 2 months and offered to settle for the 18 days' salary (LFS).
Are there any legal issues with my case? I have already replied to their notice.

There is no legal bond stating that the employee has to work for a minimum of 1 year in any organization. Furthermore, why are they asking for any compensation for 2 months? Have they provided any specific training in which they have invested in you?

Thanks, Moses. No, they didn't provide me with any corporate training. The only thing that happened was a client visit where they explained their infrastructure to the entire team (4 members) for 5 or 6 days. It was not a training session to polish our skills but just to familiarize us with the infrastructure that we are going to manage.
