I worked as both i.e. as a recruiter as well as a generalist. Currently, I am working as a generalist, but the facility that I want, like a 5-day workweek and proximity to my home, is only available in the recruiter job. I just want to know which job is better and will help me in the future as an HR professional.

Hi Richa, first of all, my question to you is, what are your short-term and long-term goals? If you desire a comfortable life with a compromised package, then opt for specialization with a five-day week, close to your house in your village. On the other hand, if your long-term goal is to lead a pan-India HR team, then focus on developing expertise in all facets of HR. Work hard on both your professional and personal growth (acquiring knowledge, higher qualifications, etc.). Ultimately, the choice is yours. Decide and proceed.
