Dear Experts
I have a query relating to contract labour act, It says the act is applicable to any establishments which employess more than 20 contract workers
My query is the number 20 is on an aggregate or its each for contracts

Hi Narayanan,
Establishment should get Registration certificate, if they hire more than 19 contract labours. Whether it is from one single contractor or from multiple contractor. .
If any contractor deploy more than 19 employees, then contractor should get CLRA license.

IF i have 3 contractors and from all three contractors i am just getting 5 employees, so the number of contract employees works upto 15
hence i need not get myself registered under clra is this correct

Further are there any list of exemptions to which this act is not applicable?

Hi Narayanan, If you have 15 employees, then CLRA is not applicable.

Is both the conditions need to be satisfied for applicablity or any one of the conditions is Enough to trigger the act.
