Dear Sir/Madam,

Our organization is an IT company with over 150 employees. Recently, the government amended the MB Act 2017, increasing the benefit of maternity leave from 12 weeks to 26 weeks. My question is, is it mandatory to provide 26 weeks of maternity leave to employees, or can we offer 12 weeks or something like 20 weeks in private companies?

HI, As you know this is amendment of the act thus it is compulsory.

The law is applicable to Private companies as well. It is mandatory to give 26 weeks leave
