My company first gave me a termination letter with the reason that I initiated a discussion regarding exiting from the project with the client. Now, when I requested them, they asked me for some money below 1 lakh to provide the letter. Your kind advice would be helpful.

I presume that some vital information is omitted for obvious reasons. Whether the termination of employment is discharge simpliciter or dismissal for misconduct? Is there any bond period remaining unserved at the time of the order of termination? Normally, no employer would ask for money in exchange for providing an experience certificate.

Your posting indicates that you have been "terminated" by your company for some misconduct, which is better known to you. If an experience letter is being issued, it may not be helpful to you in any manner, as your employer will definitely mention "termination" as the reason for leaving. In my suggestion, it would be better if you can manage without that experience letter; in its absence, you can use the salary slip and appointment letter. Your employer asking for money is nothing but a way to show denial for issuing an experience certificate.

I concur with the learned members above. Your post is anonymous and should have boldly given details of the discussion which led to termination. Notwithstanding that, demanding money to provide any documentation is incorrect. If more descriptive details are given, some experts on the forum will guide.

Just because you are on notice period, it does not mean the company cannot terminate you. They need to follow the rules of termination, like a domestic enquiry. Normally, such drastic action is taken only for serious issues. Provide full details for better advice from other members.
