Hello Sir, I am working in a Central Government Autonomous Organization. We have hired a Manpower Agency for security and other manpower staff on a contractual basis. The contract period of the agency is up to one year, which may be extended for one more year. After that, a new agency will come in.

Medical facilities for contractual employees

I would like to know the medical facilities available to these contractual employees hired through the manpower agency. They have been given ESIC if their salary is up to ₹21,000. But what about other staff whose salary is more than ₹21,000? Please guide.

There is no compulsion or rule, but on humanitarian grounds, you can cover them under a Medi-claim policy or something similar. To avoid any major issues, consider covering them under the Employee Compensation Policy or Group Personal Accident Policy.

Dear Devnagroy,

As far as the organization is covering the employee for exigencies/untoward incidents within the premises, no one would question. So it is always advised to have an employee compensation policy for all.
