Hi, I am working as a HR in a company. I have joined recently. The team is not at all welcoming. I am treated as an outsider. This is resulting in mental torture and frustration. I tried to be strong but I am failing in that everyday.
For Example: We are a team of three members. Out of which a girl has resigned. I was hired for her replacement. This girl and the other team member are treating me as if i was not required in the team. The HR room is a small room with a seating capacity of 2 people. I asked that girl that from when i can start sitting here as i have to handle everything now, she just ignored it. I have asked her many times but it seems she is not ready to move from her place.
I am just pissed from this type of behaviour. Please suggest as to how can i handle this. I don't want to quit as i am not a loser.
Kindly Help.

Hi,
I am working as a HR in a company. - Means someone conducted your interview.
I have joined recently. - Means someone issued you offer letter.
The team is not at all welcoming. - Team has not recruited you but some controlling authority appointed you.
I am treated as an outsider. - This is TEAM View not of appointing authority so immediately talk to Controlling authority who appointed you.
This is resulting in mental torture and frustration. - Because you need to vent out your concern with Controlling Authority who appointed you.
I tried to be strong but I am failing in that everyday. - After discussion you can decide future plan.
For Example,
We are a team of three members. Out of which a girl has resigned. I was hired for her replacement. This girl and the other team member are treating me as if i was not required in the team. The HR room is a small room with a seating capacity of 2 people. I asked that girl that from when i can start sitting here as i have to handle everything now,she just ignored it. I have asked her many times but it seems she is not ready to move from her place. -- Let discussion happen with the appointing authority to proceed further.
I am just pissed from this type of behavior.
Please suggest as to how can i handle this. I dont want to quit as i am not a loser. - No one is loser in this world.

Hi Dear,
Let me be first upfront in saying that you are di-focusing yourself from the very reason of being hired for. The girl who have resigned and not dealing you the way a HR should be treating others, signifies her strength and may be the very foremost reason of her personality that she is not been retained. The other person in the team may also be under shadow of her personality for which he is behaving like her.
You need not to worry of this tinny things which happens mostly in offices as a part of office politics. Why to get yourself demoralize? You have been hired as a replacement and ensure you deliver as per your reporting authorities expectation. You are not there for making relationship although I understand that inter personnel skills is the required to be implemented for a good atmosphere of work. Just wait for her dispersal and then you certainly would feel a change of atmosphere and other person's change of behavior towards you as well.
